I came across this place yesterday: NeoWide. It appears to have been a Google Adsense blogging site that transformed into an upfront payment writing place.
I slapped three quick articles up there: two over 400 words and one just over 200 words. I got $2.00 each for the longer ones and $1.00 for the shorter one. Hmm…
Whether you find that type of pay worth it or not is up to you. Personally, I’m going to experiment a little bit and reach payout ($50.00) once to see if they pay out promptly.
The one thing I do not like about the site is there are no residual earnings. I’m all about the residuals! Passive income is the best type there is.
Anyway…. While I cannot positively recommend it yet, feel free to check out Neowide and see for yourself.
Many how-to-write resources instruct you to use “a conversational tone” for online writing. But what exactly is a conversational tone? What they really mean is to be friendly and concise. Isn’t that how you have a conversation?
Some tips for maintaining a conversational tone in online writing:
Forget the vocabulary – That isn’t to say that you should dumb down your writing and only use one-syllable words. Unless you are writing highly technical reports for a specific audience that knows the words, only use words found in normal conversations.
Use You, Not One – One might consider using ‘one’ to indicate the general person who might be reading the article. Don’t bother. Use ‘you’ instead. To my mind, a sentence that uses ‘one’ automatically sounds a bit like an English butler. Most people don’t talk that way. ‘You’ is more conversational.
Be Comfortable — This one is a little more vague, but that’s okay. Be comfortable with what you are writing. Intersperse your writing with questions, anecdotes, and the occasional sentence fragment, just for spice. You will not get a gold star sticker if your grammar is 100% correct. Your main goal is to connect with the reader.
Internet marketers realize the value of affiliate marketing articles. Not everyone understand how to maximize their effectiveness, however. Some people get it completely wrong.
